Peer Review Process

Peer Review Process

ISOMER— Journal of Chemistry Education is a double-blind peer-reviewed journal. Every manuscript submitted to JCSIS undergoes a rigorous peer-review process to ensure academic quality, originality, and relevance. All accepted manuscripts are reviewed by two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field.

1

Submission of Paper

The corresponding author submits the manuscript through the online submission system supported by the Open Journal System (OJS).

2

Editorial Office Assessment

The editorial team conducts an initial screening to assess the manuscript’s compliance with the journal’s focus and scope, author guidelines, structure, and minimum quality requirements. Plagiarism screening using Turnitin is performed at this stage.

3

Appraisal by the Editor-in-Chief

The Editor-in-Chief evaluates the manuscript for originality, significance, and suitability for publication. Manuscripts that do not meet the criteria may be rejected without further review.

4

Invitation to Reviewers

The handling editor invites reviewers based on their expertise, research relevance, and absence of conflicts of interest. The journal applies a double-blind review, ensuring anonymity for both authors and reviewers.

5

Response to Invitations

Invited reviewers evaluate their availability, expertise, and potential conflicts of interest before accepting or declining the review request. Alternative reviewer suggestions may be provided if the invitation is declined.

6

Review is Conducted

Reviewers critically evaluate the manuscript and submit their recommendations: acceptance, rejection, or revision (major or minor). Detailed and constructive feedback is provided to support academic improvement.

7

Journal Evaluates the Reviews

The Editor-in-Chief and handling editor assess all reviewer reports. If reviewer opinions differ significantly, an additional reviewer may be invited.

8

Decision is Communicated

The editorial decision, along with anonymous reviewer comments, is communicated to the author. Reviewers are also informed of the final decision.

9

Final Steps

Accepted manuscripts proceed to copy-editing and publication. Revised manuscripts must be resubmitted according to reviewer feedback. All published articles are freely available online in PDF format.
